Germany is more than just a neighbor for me. As a half-German (my mother comes from the former GDR), I've been coming here my whole life and feel truly at home. I speak the language, love the food and the traditions, and I return every year. Because the country is so large and diverse, there's still so much to discover. There are still regions and cities I haven't yet visited.
My trips to Germany are often short and varied. I enjoy a city break or a lovely walk in nature. In the winter months, I love visiting several Christmas markets and getting into the Christmas spirit. The eastern part of the country is especially appealing to me, with Saxony as my clear favorite. Dresden is even one of my favorite cities in the world. Germany is close, diverse, and welcoming. A destination that continues to surprise, even if you think you already know it.
