Travel tips for Argentina

Argentina is a country of immense diversity, from vibrant cities to vast plains and glaciers in the south. My experiences lie primarily in Patagonia, a region I explored during a trip that took place largely in Chile and included crossing the border into Argentina several times. On this page, you'll find my articles and experiences, organized by region and destination.

Why Argentina?

  • For hiking in Patagonia, with routes around Fitz Roy and other mountain areas
  • Because here you see iconic glaciers, such as the Perito Moreno, where you literally walk along and over the ice
  • For the far south of South America, with Ushuaia and Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego
  • To spot wildlife, including penguins along the coast and in the south
  • For a boat trip on the Beagle Channel, where landscape and sea meet
  • Because distances are great and the journey itself becomes part of the experience
  • For long routes such as the Ruta Nacional 40, which takes you through a large part of the country
  • And yes, also for good food on the road, with steaks and asado as a fixed part of the trip
