I've visited Croatia several times now, and each trip revealed a different side of the country. My first encounter was in winter, during the Christmas season in Zagreb. Later, road trips through the Kvarner Bay and along the southern islands followed, visiting Cres, Rab, Mljet, Korčula, and Dubrovnik, among others. What always strikes me is the color of the water. The bays and islands have an almost tropical feel, especially outside of peak season when it's still relatively quiet.
Croatia combines coast, culture, and nature in an accessible way. National parks like Risnjak and Učka, historic towns, and easily accessible islands make the country ideal for a road trip or island-hopping adventure. While popularity has increased in recent years, and prices have risen accordingly, Croatia remains a versatile and easily accessible destination.
