The weather is improving and summer is just around the corner. Chances are you are already thinking about a sunny destination. Whether it’s a beach holiday or a city break in the sun, one thing always comes back: what to pack? Especially in warm weather, you want clothes that are comfortable, practical, and simply look good. In this article, I share my tips so that you don't pack too much but still head out well-prepared.
What do you take with you to a sunny destination?
For a trip to the sun, it's all about lightweight and practical gear. You want clothing that is comfortable in warm weather and easy to mix and match. Think of airy shirts, shorts, and, of course, swimwear. Shoes also play a role. Flip-flops are ideal for the beach, but a pair of sturdy sneakers or lightweight walking shoes are just as handy if you want to explore a city.
What I try to do myself is choose my clothes so that everything matches. That way, you don't have to pack as much, yet you can still create different outfits. That saves space in your luggage and makes traveling a lot more relaxed.
Swimwear for travel
If you are going to a sunny destination, swimwear is indispensable. Whether you are going to the beach, have a pool at your accommodation, or are taking a boat trip, chances are you will go into the water more often than you might initially think.
To be honest, I'm not really a water lover myself. You won't often see me lying by the pool or on the beach all day. I prefer being active, exploring a city, or going for a walk. Still, there are times when it's nice to take a break, for example at a swimming pool or somewhere by the water. In those situations, it's certainly handy to have a good pair of swimming trunks with you. And since I don't go into the water very often, I don't want to walk around in old, much too small swimming trunks either.

Shorts while traveling
As soon as the temperatures rise, I actually always wear shorts. They are comfortable, airy, and easy to combine with different shirts.
What is handy is that some shorts are also suitable for going into the water and dry quickly afterwards. This means you don't need to bring as many different items of clothing. That makes packing a lot easier and ensures you have less luggage. A practical shorts for men That is why, as far as I am concerned, it is indispensable when traveling. Pack smart: take less, combine more
One of the most important things I’ve learned while traveling is that you often need less than you think. By choosing clothes that mix and match, you can put together multiple outfits with a relatively small amount.
I usually opt for neutral colors and add a few more eye-catching items. That way, you can mix things up without your suitcase getting full. I also try to pack clothes that you can wear at different times. That not only saves space but also makes it easier to make choices along the way.
Practical tips for traveling to warm destinations
In warm weather, it is important to wear clothing that is not only comfortable but also functional. Breathable fabrics help you stay cool and protect your skin from the sun. Additionally, it is useful to always bring something with long sleeves, for example for the evening or if you are sitting in the sun for an extended period.
Shoes are also something to think carefully about. Flip-flops are ideal for the beach, but for longer distances or a day in the city, good shoes are definitely more comfortable. By thinking in advance about what you will be doing during your trip, you can pack more purposefully and avoid taking unnecessary items with you.
